This is the moment Xinomavro lovers have been waiting for: the market release of the superior 2017 vintages of both Ramnista and Diaporos, the two exemplary reds of the Kir-Yianni Estate.

From the onset the ideal conditions for the grape’s maturation raised the hopes that 2017 would be a top year for wines of the Xinomavro variety.

The uniformity of grape development and the particularly early color change of the berries, which signals the start of their maturation, were indeed favorable to good phenolic maturity.

And, the absence of rainfall in April-June and August-September respectively, combined with lower night temperatures, further facilitated the healthy condition of the grapes and their ripening.

The long wait is finally over and the 2017 vintage releases do not disappoint. Ramnista and Diaporos prove to be incredibly rich in flavor and body with a typical backbone of fine tannins, the hallmark of excellent Xinomavro.
