On Friday 22th of November, Michelin, the globally renowned tire company and name behind the world’s leading guide to quality restaurants, Michelin guide, announced its acquisition of a 40% stake in Robert Parker Wine Advocate and RobertParker.com, the world’s most widely read independent consumers’ guide to fine wine.
During the press conference, which was held at Gabriel Kruether restaurant in New York City, the Robert Parker Wine Advocate’s team gathered to launch the very first selection of their wine reviewer’s favorites. They announced their 10 wine discoveries of 2019 which includes the dry red “Diaporos 2011”, the flagship of Ktima-Kir-Yianni!
The grapes of Diaporos, 87% Xinomavro and 13% Syrah, are sourced from the block #5 which lies at 280m of altitude at the highest hill of the Estate in Naoussa. The block #5 is the best of the estate because of its intense inclination (15%) and its southeast exposure, while the soil is sandy clay with calcium carbonate. After 22 months in oak barrels, Diaporos 2011 is a full-bodied powerful xinomavro with exceptional finesse character.
Kir-Yianni team is very proud of this distinction!
