Nikos Zacharis, KIR-YIANNI Sales and Marketing Manager, received the “Best Rose of the Show” trophy for L’ESPRIT DU LAC 2022 at the curtain of the Balkan International Wine Competition in Sofia, Bulgaria. A few moments later, the “Best Red of the Show” was awarded to DIAPOROS 2018,  placing KIR-YIANNI among the top winners of the competition that on its 12th year had gathered 300 wineries of the broader Balkans and 1,200 wines.

Still, DIAPOROS 2018 led the way for our winery to the June issue of WINE ADVOCATE scoring 92+ points.  Together with 91+ points for our RAMNISTA 2019 and 90 points for our ASSYRTIKO 2022, that was yet another notable harvest of acclamations and scores, rewarding the restless work of KIR-YIANNI team of viticulturists and oenologists at our Estates in Naoussa and Amyndeon, in Northern Greece.  That had been Mark Squires’ last review for WINE ADVOCATE, a wine critic that had been reporting -thus spreading the word for Greek wines for many many years.
