Environmental Sustainability at the Heart of Kir-Yianni Estate

22.08.2021

Passionate advocate of environmental conservation, Kir-Yianni Estate has made another concrete green move in the execution of its sustainable development strategy.

Recently, the winery installed 37 Trina 550 Wp photovoltaic panels in a new bid to maximise the use of renewable energy sources.

Although this first installation covers a significant part of the energy needs at the Yianakochori site, the plan is to gradually install extra dozens of solar panels for the Estate to become fully energy self-sufficient.

The solar panel rig follows hot on the heels of two other recent conservational initiatives.

In 2019, Kir-Yianni reduced the overall carbon footprint of its Yianakochori vineyard and winery operations to net zero by planting a 10-acre olive grove and oak trees.
