Blue Tractor Goes Green!

28.04.2025

This May Kir-Yianni’s iconic BLUE TRACTOR goes green!

No, the beloved label isn’t changing its name or color—it’s simply carrying an important message: even the smallest change can make a big difference for the environment. Introducing the first sustainability campaign in Greek wine, turning words into action and inviting wine lovers to be part of the change.

Starting this year, we’re reducing the weight of the BLUE TRACTOR bottle across the entire range-white, rosé, and red- by 90gr. It might sound like a small change, but its impact is anything but small. In just one year, this decision is expected to save 34.2 tons of glass and cut CO2 emissions by 11.2 tons.

And because every change deserves to be celebrated, this milestone will come to life through a series of special events at our Estate in Naoussa—centered around the BLUE TRACTOR. It was on this very tractor that Yiannis Boutaris first planted our vineyard back in the early ’70s, helping revive the Naoussa appellation and the Xinomavro variety, inspiring a new generation of local growers. Since this wine is dedicated to the Greek vine grower, all our events—especially on weekends throughout the month—will celebrate community, collaboration, and the collective effort it takes to achieve something meaningful. With nature, creativity, and future generations at the heart of every activity, we invite visitors of all ages to be part of the experience.

Among the many highlights of the campaign are a series of eco-themed activities for children, developed in collaboration with the local non-profit ARTVILLE – TechnoPark Naoussa. These joyful, educational events—like the Recycling Dance, Planting Relay, and Eco Art Gallery—invite young visitors to imagine, learn, and create—while supporting a meaningful cause. This initiative help raise funds for the purchase of an educational first-aid training dummy to be used in local schools.

The campaign also extends beyond the Estate, with a photo contest on Instagram, challenging wine lovers to share their own moments with the BLUE TRACTOR—wherever they are in the world.

A limited-edition sustainable tote bag, available only at our Naoussa and Amyndeon Estates, completes the message as a tangible reminder of what this initiative stands for.

Throughout May, visitors will also enjoy a rich program of curated tastings and immersive experiences. From vineyard walks and food & wine pairings to themed gatherings like the Blue Tractor at Sunset or the Growers Challenge, every activity reflects the values of community, collaboration, and mindful enjoyment.

In this spirit of openness and connection, our Open Doors Weekend welcomes guests to explore the vineyard, tour the winery, and discover firsthand the green philosophy that guides our work—from soil to cellar.

This May, we focus on what matters—community, care for the environment, and quality experiences at the Estate.
